The Manchester Sportsmen's Association is hosting its Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday April 23, 2016. The event will take place rain or shine. The derby will last from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
Prizes will be awarded, including $150 for longest trout, $10 for each tagged trout, as well as a prize for the boy and girl who catch the longest trout.
Raffles include fly fishing rods, tied flies, bait rods, lures, tackle, and more
The pond will be stocked with 14-17 inch trout prior to the derby, and there is a 5 trout limit for the event. A Connecticut Fishing License is not required for participation.
The cost is $20 per person, $15 for kids, and anyone under 5 is free. Food will be available for purchase at the event.
