COVID-19

March 24, 2020

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Due to the increased and rapid spread of COVID-19, and in accordance with Governor Lamont’s executive orders and recommendations by the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Manchester Sportsmen’s Association will be enacting the following changes effective immediately.

  1. All buildings are closed to both members and the public.

  2. All ranges are closed to both members and the public.

  3. All events for the foreseeable future are CANCELLED. This includes the fishing derby, cowboy shoots, public skeet nights, hunter education classes, pistol classes, dinners, etc.

  4. There is no public use of, or accessibility to, the club. This includes all ranges, buildings, and fishing.

These rules are in effect until further notice. Conditions are rapidly changing state and country wide, and these policies will be revisited as conditions improve or worsen. The board will re-address guidelines on a weekly basis and in accord with state recommendations. Signs will be posted on all buildings, the front gate, and ranges notifying people of these changes.

To keep some semblance of normalcy, members are still encouraged to bring their families and use the club to fish, hike, and relax. We ask that you practice proper social distancing and do your part to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

This decision was not an easy one. We have a responsibility to ensure the safety of our members and to do our part slowing the spread of COVID-19. This shutdown is temporary, and we hope to be back up and running as quickly as possible.
